MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- The New York State Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that directly leads to the arrest and conviction of those behind a recent string of armed robberies, including one in Mamaroneck.

On Jan. 17 a 45-year-old town man was robbed at gunpoint while walking on Glenn Road toward Valley Road when a masked man reportedly displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded the victim empty his pockets and hand over his bag.

Police Departments in surrounding communities have received similar reports, including two in Pelham on Jan. 12 and Jan. 31, and one in New Rochelle on Jan. 29.

In all four cases, the victims described the unknown suspect as a black male, 5 foot 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build - 175 to 200 pounds - wearing a black ski mask and dark clothing.

If you have any information, call 1-866-313-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous.
